Abbie spent his 20’s playing bass guitar in a professional recording and touring band, playing with many of the grunge greats during their formative years. Then, in an about face, he completely switched gears and worked in finance for a decade. Seeking new adventures, Abbie decided it was time to move on and undertake the entrepreneurial endeavors that seemed to beckon.
Along the way, Abbie built raised beds on in the parkway in front of his house, hoping his family and neighbors could enjoy organic fruits and vegetables. These parkways, the spot of grass that often exists between the sidewalk and the curb of the street, were viewed by the City of LA as their eminent domain and tried to shut him down. The resulting fight with the city helped to get the municipal code overturned, allowing for anyone to install raised beds in LA's parkways. This experience re-ignited his passion for the environment and the desire to pass along a better world for his daughters. Abbie decided to focus his attention on a transportation solution that everyone can use.
This project is the intersection of lifelong experiences and Abbie's latent desire to save the world.
